Experienced BCO's required on an ad-hoc basis with semi-submersible and/or jack-up experience for positions in the North Sea
Immediate Supervisor: Barge Supervisor/Assistant Barge Supervisor Scope: To maintain the Installation's position, draft and trim with respect to well location. Operate the ballast system and perform control station duties. To carry out all duties to the best of your ability, so as to contribute to the safe and efficient running of the unit. All duties are to be carried out in such a manner so as not to endanger the safety of oneself or other persons who may be affected by your actions. Responsibilities: - Operate the Installation's ballast control panel, maintaining draft and trim - Ballasts and de-ballasts the Installation when the Installation is moved or as required - Monitors all ballast controls and related instrumentation. Maintain the unit's position in relation to well location. Also monitors the location of supply vessels, standby boats and helicopters. - Carry out the Installation's stability calculations, execute the daily computer print out of the stability calculation and the weekly/transit longhand stability report - Record weather observations - Ensure the provision of fuel oil, drill water, pot water, cooling water, brine, base oil and other materials in order to maintain operations - Maintain a continuous listening watch on VHF radio and maintain regular communication with supply vessels and the stand by vessel - Operate and monitor the system's alarm panels in the control room e.g. fire and gas leak detection systems - Maintain the control room log. Keep records of all bulk materials loaded/backloaded and materials used - Assist in maintaining record of all additions or subtactions to the lighship - Record the movement of ships that are within the specified safety zone - Carry out the required duties as assigned by the planned maintenance system - Report to the Barge Supervisor, Assistant Barge Supervisor or OIM anything which may affect the safe and efficient running of the operation e.g. stability problems, anchor loads deviating from the norm etc
